WHO’s September report records renewed regional hostilities and pressure on health services. Its country estimates have a 14 September cutoff and may be revised.
Hospitals need power, staff, medicine and transport as well as beds. Losing any one of those services can put injured people and patients with chronic illness at risk. Reported casualties and verified attacks on healthcare are different datasets.
